Animal communication brings solace in what can seem like the darkest times. In many cases, this is related to the loss of a pet, which may come in the form of a move to a new living situation or due to our animal transitioning out of their physical body.

Although the loss of a best friend and family member is most often a very painful experience, when the time is right, a new animal may come into our lives. The new animal is often sent not only to help in our healing process but also to move us forward into the next phase of our spiritual and emotional journey on this earth.

A Step Out In Faith – Gina, Bella and Ava’s Story

Ava was recently adopted following the loss of Gina’s dog, Bella.  Gina was devastated by Bella’s passing and Gina wanted some good to come from this incredibly difficult experience. Gina felt that God was guiding her to adopt a dog in need and it wasn’t long after this desire blossomed in her heart, that Gina found Ava.

Ava is a 7.2lb Chihuahua who Gina adopted from a located rescue organization.  Gina knew that Ava was the dog she was looking for and shortly after bringing her home, Gina discovered that Ava did have some issues. Most noticeable was Ava’s anxiety around new people, especially in foreign environments.  Gina had brought Ava to friend’s homes and could see the incredible discomfort Ava would experience.

From Trauma To Change

When I spoke with Ava, it became clear that she had been used in situations involving breeding that resulting in her having a mistrust of most humans.  Ava showed me images of human hands picking her up and moving her. I could sense strongly her feelings of vulnerability and fear when she was thinking about these experiences.

Ava let me know that she felt that she had no control over her own body and she had been traumatized as a result.

After relaying this information to Gina, she informed me that she had been told by her veterinarian that he believed that Ava had been used for breeding.

Ava Speaks In Many Ways

I asked Ava if she would like to release this trauma and she said that she did. I incorporated energy work to assist in this process and after a few minutes, I felt that Ava had released attachment to this pain. Gina informed me that while I was utilizing the energy work, Ava jumped up on Gina’s lap, looked up into Gina’s eyes, made a little sound and jumped off.  I love it when animals show what is happening internally during our work through body language and behavior!

Pets As Partners

Ava then told me that she was here now to help Gina in this particular phase of her life. Ava was going to provide comfort and support at a time when Gina was working on growing stronger in her independence and faith. Reciprocally, Ava said that Gina had rescued Ava from a life of uncertainty and was helping her to let go of her most painful past experiences. Ava believed that she and Gina were brought together at this particular time to move forward into their mutual journeys on this earth.

Immediately after our call, Gina took Ava to a neighbor’s home where there were a number of people present. Gina sent me this follow-up message, “Thank you so much for your gift. She was totally fine at my friend’s house! Ava walked around the kitchen, drank water from a bowl that and then sat on my lap but didn’t hide from anyone. Her head and ears were up, looking around and alert!”

And it gets even better!

Gina says that after a few weeks, Ava continues to improve.  She doesn’t jump up for Gina to pick her up when she is being walked and other people and dogs cross her path, another matter that Gina was hoping to see resolved.

As Ava so beautifully demonstrates, even after the tragic loss of a beloved pet, a special new animal friend can be a part of a door opening so that we can heal and grow.
