Hi, I’m Anne Angelo Webb, The Animal Intuitive—owner of Intuitive Touch Animal Care and the Animal Intuitive Academy.
I’m nationally board certified in animal acupressure and massage, a professional animal communicator and instructor, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who now specializes in hypnosis and brainspotting.
For over 20 years, I’ve been helping animals and the people who love them feel more connected—whether through consultations, education, or creative projects like my children’s book and companion album.
I love empowering pet parents like you to support your animals’ emotional and physical well-being from home.
Keep reading for this week’s calming acupressure techniques, a special grounding practice just for you—and a limited-time offer to help deepen your intuitive connection with your animal.
Does your pet tremble during thunderstorms or hide when fireworks go off? These three powerful acupressure points can help soothe anxiety and create a sense of calm and safety. Even better, you’ll learn a grounding technique that you can do to make these points even more effective for your pet.
Your Calm = Their Calm
Animal Communication Intro Lesson
Our pets are deeply connected to our energy. If you’re feeling anxious, chances are your pet will be, too. Before working with any acupressure points, take a few moments to ground yourself.
Try this grounding practice:
Place your hand gently on your chest or feel your feet on the floor.
Close your eyes.
Take a slow, deep breath in… and let it out.
- Do this several times
- Visualize a pure white light connecting your heart to your pet’s heart
- As you do this, notice that you allow yourself to feel what their body is feeling. For example, that their arm is your arm. That their leg is your leg.
Trust your intuitive gifts that you were born with and know that you have known before what your animal has felt.
This simple practice shifts your energy—and your pet will feel that calm. Grounding yourself before offering acupressure can significantly enhance its effects.

1. Kidney 1 (KID-1) – Yongquan ("Gushing Spring")
Location: On the bottom of your pet’s paw, toward the center-front area.
Benefits:
Grounds and calms the spirit
Helps reduce fear and panic
Anchors energy downward during overstimulation
How to apply:
Use your thumb or pointer finger to apply light to moderate pressure for about 60 seconds. You can also try gentle circular movements. Always observe your pet’s reactions and stop if they seem uncomfortable. Look for signs of relaxation like yawning, stretching, head lowering, or simply walking away.

2. Pericardium 7 (PC-7) – Da Ling ("Big Mound")
Location: Under the large central pad of your pet’s front paw.
Benefits:
Soothes emotional overwhelm
Calms the heart and nervous system
Ideal for overstimulation from loud sounds and flashing lights
This point is especially helpful for pets experiencing acute stress from fireworks, thunderstorms, or travel. Combine this with other calming measures like soft music and dimmed lighting for best results.

3. Bai Hui ("Hundred Meetings")
Location: Top of the head, between the ears at the crown of the skull.
Benefits:
Deeply calming and centering
Anchors the spirit and restores stability
Used to relieve shock and fear
Balances energy between “Heaven and Earth”
How to apply:
Lightly rest your fingers or palm on the crown. Use soft circular movements or simply hold the point with calm stillness. Combine with slow, intentional breathing for a grounding effect.

Tip: Create a Heaven-to-Earth Circuit
Pair GV-20 and KID-1 for a powerful energetic balance:
-
GV-20 at the top of the head (Heaven)
-
KID-1 at the base of the paws (Earth)
This combination is especially helpful for pets (and people) who seem to be “jumping out of their body” from panic or sensory overload.
Final Thoughts
Calming your pet during stressful events like the Fourth of July or summer thunderstorms doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With a grounded presence and a few simple acupressure points, you can offer comfort and connection that goes far beyond words.
