Gracie cat stared at me with those penetrating eyes. Her impassioned cry emphasized her annoyance with my delay in response. “Snacks!”
Kane dog stops, fixated on the shadow on the ground and he is not getting into the car.
Or dogs in general: “Do you need to go out because you need to ‘go’ or are you just bored because I’m trying to finish up this phone call?”
These are just a few examples of the little ways that we need to “get through” to our animals in everyday life and here’s how you can start today!

First off, I should mention that like to take the kindest, gentlest approach with animals.
Animals bring so much to my life and I prefer not to say, “move,” just as I wouldn’t with a person. I want to treat them with respect.
Is it wrong to give “commands” when it’s really needed? Absolutely not. There are definitely moments, especially when safety comes into play, when a command is needed.
However, on a daily basis, my goal is to give animals a voice and to truly listen to them. Therefore, I see making the extra effort to communicate my wishes in a more respectful manner, with animal communication, as ultimately the better choice. It greatly enhances the depth of our relationship and is also elevating to the soul. When I can find an alternative to the way things are usually done in a world that often values quick and easy results without concern for the long-term effects on animal or human, I’m going to do everything I can to take that route.
That’s what true animal communication offers.
Animal Communication “spot work” builds trust and long-lasting change.
Although in-depth animal communication consultations serve as wonderful opportunities for sharing, expanding upon your pets deeper wants and needs, resolving long-standing problems and making significant shifts, in-the-moment spot work communications serve as incredible daily opportunities. Strong relationships take time to build and usually, real trust is a result of showing up repeatedly for the other individual.
So, what do I do when a cat is asking for a treat and I realize I ran out yesterday, I need my dogs to give me a minute to finish a task or a pet to move over slightly not wanting to jolt them out of their relaxed state, prevent groceries from ending up all over the floor or get an animal’s focus on back on track?
Remember that animals are sentient beings, capable of deep feelings and thoughts.
Animals speak the language of feeling. So, sending an image of what you want along with an associated feeling is “doing” communication in a way that comes naturally to animals. Trusting and believing in this truth is the first step to getting the results you want. You will have better results, however, if you maintain a grounded state as much as possible.
But life is crazy and I’m definitely not always feeling grounded.
Wanting to be able to communicate with animals often does take us down a path of changing some things, including making it a priority to be in a more centered state as much as possible. Having a meditation practice is a great way to shift our energy to keep ourselves in a more grounded state, more consistently. This way, when the moment arises, you have a better likelihood of being able to shift into that centered space quickly so that you can get your point across and hear from your pet faster and more clearly. This practice is akin to putting money in the bank. And if it doesn’t work every time, don’t get discouraged. It may take more practice and there’s help out there!
