Jenny – born December 2011

Jenny is a resident at Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter. I was asked to do some massage and Reiki on her since she is very stressed living in a shelter environment. It’s not hard to imagine why this would be and many dogs have stress reactions when they are living in an animal shelter. Even one as well maintained as MPAS. This is just the nature of the shelter “beast,” so to speak. However, Jenny, has displayed a higher level of stress, including a very sad whining/ howling sound that she makes when she is put into her kennel. I understand where she is coming from as it was even stressful for me to work on Jenny in her kennel with all of the noise and frenetic energy.

Jenny: I would like a home with nice little girls. (Disclaimer: I am always weary to include specifics out of concern that a family that might be just right for a dog might not follow up. I encourage anyone who is interested in adopting Jenny to pursue contacting the shelter. Sometimes animals send me this information in the moment but are perfectly willing to consider another kind of family arrangement once they meet the right people).

Me: Jenny’s energy is very sweet and soft and so it is no wonder she is having a hard time.

Jenny: I would really like to get out of here. I truly do not belong here. I belong in a very nice, comfortable home.

Me: What is something people don’t know about you?

Jenny: I one time had chocolate and I liked it.

Time for disclaimer #2:
Never feed a dog chocolate. It can kill them.

Me: How did you get a hold of chocolate?

Jenny: Shows me her grabbing it out of a candy bar wrapper that’s been left on a table

Me: What would you like to do in the home that you go to?

Jenny: Shows me her lying down on the floor with a little girl next to her watching television. The feeling I get from her is “relaxed.”

Me: Anything else you want to say?

Jenny:  When is someone going to come and adopt me?

Me: You have to “put it out there” what you want. Surround yourself with the images of the type of home and people that you want like it’s a bubble around you and your kennel. Also, surround yourself and your kennel with white light for protection.

You can also ask your higher power to find you a home and help to provide a protective field around you.

Jenny: OK, I will.
