Giving Thanks In The Waiting
Animals provide us with an opportunity to learn how to persevere during seasons of waiting. Many animals live in temporary homes, such as a shelter or foster home. They have a seeming lack of control and powerlessness in these situations. However, what I am repeatedly reminded of through my animal clients is both a responsibility to take care of animals as they live with uncertainty, but also to learn from them about how to persevere through life’s challenges.
I am always blessed to experience the perspective of the animals about the waiting. Animals teach us a positive perspective, as they are able to stay in the moment despite what difficulty they may be facing. I was asked to communicate with an adorable foster-dog named Nutmeg. Nutmeg is a Yorkie who made it clear that he possessed a certain wisdom that he wanted to share with humans. Nutmeg mentioned that his memory of his earlier years was not pleasant. What I picked up on was an image of one of his homes in which the person was not well and unable to take care of him.
Nutmeg was aware of some medical issues related to his kidneys and emphasized that he did need to be in a home where he was going to be very well taken care of. He was very clear that wanted to wait for the right home. Nutmeg mentioned that he felt that he would benefit greatly from energy work and that he finds healing in the stillness. Animals intuitively know how energy work can help them and often provide energy healing for humans without us even realizing what they’re doing. Ever had a cat curl up next to you and purr and you just feel more centered and relaxed as a result? You likely have been given some healing animal energy work.
In an effort to bring you and your animal family members the best services possible, I decided it was time for a long overdue overhaul of the Intuitive Touch Animal Care website. At the same time I have been expanding, completing a course of study to in Biblical Christian counseling (an option available to my Personal Intuitive Coaching clients). But these efforts have taken up a great deal of time and the website took much longer to complete than expected. My work with animals, my own faith and my studies have ingrained in me a belief that although it can be difficult to be patient, the waiting brings about good fruits if the intention is right and aligned with Divine will. Although I have found myself frustrated and sometimes feeling like I was spinning more plates than I would like during this season, the outcome has been well worth it.
However, just as Nutmeg mentioned, it is important to seek peace in the stillness when life is full of movement. Although our efforts may be helping us to grow in positive ways, it is important to know when to stop and be still. Our bodies, minds and souls need rest in order to rejuvenate and to be able to invest in our work, friends and families.
And some excellent news, Nutmeg can attest that the waiting was well worth it. He is now in the home of a permanent and lovely forever foster family!
